The increase in hormone levels during the time of pregnancy leads to incidence of acne among some of the women. In fact, Acne and Pregnancy are such complicated issues that the treatment needs the attention and close observation of the doctor. The general intake of over-the-counter medicines for getting relief from acne proves to be dangerous if taken during pregnancy by women. Several of the medicines used for getting quick relief from acne are dangerous to the health of newborn that it may cause severe deformities in the baby. However, some of the solutions like benzoyl peroxide can be utilized for providing external relief.

The incidence of severe pain related to Acne and Pregnancy in some of the women is mainly related to lack of cleanliness to control bacteria. Cleaning of the skin two to three times daily by pregnant women checks the bacteria. Secondly, improving the intake of vegetables and fruits gives lot of relief to pregnant women. Though the pain associated with acne could be severe, by following healthy diet and exercise, there will be lot of relief among pregnant women. Women need to take extra care to control the pain of acne by cleaning the blemishes regularly and they must avoid taking medicines for acne without consulting the doctor, as this may prove detrimental to the health of newborn baby. Some of the babies may bear physical deformities if medicines freely available in the market for acne treatment are taken.
